Briefs: Anti-smoking materials
In preparation for the statewide indoor public smoking ban Jan. 1, into effect, the Kane County Health Department has available tobacco prevention materials that can be used at businesses, churches, organizations, schools or homes free of charge. New St. Charles restaurant
A ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Thursday will mark the opening of Fahrenheit Restaurant at 1890 W. Main St., St. Charles. The event is being hosted by the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce. Kids dance clinic
The Geneva High School varsity dance team will conduct a dance clinic for first- through fifth-graders from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 18 at the high school. The cost is $30 for pre-registration and $35 at the door. This includes a practice session, a T-shirt, pompons and a snack.
