Pacers surprise Magic

Danny Granger scored a season-high 27 points and Jamaal Tinsley had 20 points and 10 assists to lift the Indiana Pacers to an upset 115-109 win over the Orlando Magic on Friday night.

Seven players scored in double figures for the Pacers, who rallied from a 15-point third-quarter deficit. Jermaine O'Neal had 15 points and Marquis Daniels 13 off the bench.

Dwight Howard led Orlando with 30 points and 15 rebounds. Rashard Lewis added 24 points and Keith Bogans had 14, but the Magic hit only 13 of 39 shots (33.3 percent) in the second half to lose only its fifth game of the season..

Trailing 93-89 with 8:45 left in the game, the Pacers used a 14-1 run to erase the last of what had been a 73-58 deficit in the third quarter.

The Magic built a 62-54 at halftime by shooting 52.4 percent against the confused Pacers' defense. Orlando hit 7-of-17 3-pointers, three by Keith Bogans. When the Pacers chased too far out on the perimeter, Howard went to work inside, scoring 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting.

A dunk by Howard gave Orlando a 77-63 lead with 7:45 left in the third period, but the Pacers cut into the margin with an 11-1 run. Tinsley's 3-pointer cut the deficit to 78-74 with 3:47 left in the period.
