Glenbard North grad dies from injuries
A 22-year-old Hanover Park native who was struck last week by an SUV in Chicago has died.
Brian Bozen, a 2003 graduate of Glenbard North High School, died about 7 p.m. Monday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, a Cook County medical examiner's office spokesman said.
Bozen, of the 3400 block of West 82nd Place in Chicago, was struck about 11 p.m. Nov. 29 shortly after exiting a CTA bus. He was trying to cross the street near South Kilpatrick Avenue and West 79th Street, police spokesman Marcel Bright said.
Jonathan Moten, 22, of the 3400 block of West 83rd Place in Chicago, has been charged with a felony count of leaving the scene of an accident involving a death and driving under the influence of alcohol. He's due in court Dec. 17, where charges could be upgraded to reckless homicide.
Moten called 911 later that night to turn himself in, police say. He was arrested around 4 a.m. at his house and refused sobriety testing.
Police also cited Moten for driving on a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance and other offenses.
Visitation for Bozen will be held today from 2 to 9 p.m., with a funeral service at 8 p.m., at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave., Summit. Cremation is private.
