Houlihan's is coming to Buffalo Grove plaza
Houlihan's coming to new Buffalo Grove development
At least one restaurant is intending to move to Buffalo Grove's Berenesa Plaza, a development at Milwaukee Avenue and Deerfield Parkway that officials hope will act as a gateway into town.
The developers revealed this week that Houlihan's has signed a letter of intent for a 7,000-square-foot restaurant.
Before the village board gave approval to the development earlier this year, several trustees stressed that restaurants must be signed before the rest of the project -- including a hotel, bank and pharmacy -- could be built.
"I will be very, very pleased to have Houlihan's in the community," Village President Elliott Hartstein said at the board meeting Monday.
The developer also has to sign two more letters of intent for restaurants before any other facet of the 24-acre site can be put in place.
"I think (Houlihan's) thinks it's a good location right on the Milwaukee Avenue strip," said Ken Kuchler, project manager with Single Site Solutions. "They'll do good business there."
The restaurant location is the second-largest on the site; another spot for a 10,000-square-foot building is still open.
Kuchler said the management company is in negotiations with a couple of restaurants now and hopes to have them signed soon.
