Algonquin wants your thoughts on trail corridor
The Village of Algonquin requests public input regarding the development of a potential new trail corridor. This new pedestrian way could include a path running more or less parallel to Haeger's Bend Road from Presidential Park to the intersection of Compton Drive and Route 62.
Interested parties are invited to attend public input sessions to learn more about the project and to share their thoughts and ideas regarding the trail concept.
The first public input session on Dec. 1 was a visit to the trail corridor itself. Participants met village staff in the parking lot of the Glacier Plaza Shopping Center on County Line Road, east of Algonquin Road adjacent to Mandile's restaurant.
The second public input session will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Algonquin Village Hall, 2200 Harnish Drive. A concept trail plan for the proposed path will be on display. This meeting will be an informal open house format, which means interested parties can stop by at any time between 6 and 7:30 p.m. to review the plans and provide comments.
Public comments will be included in a grant application to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Illinois Department of Transportation. The Algonquin Village Hall is an accessible facility. Comments may also be mailed to Jeff Mihelich, Assistant Village Manager, Village of Algonquin, 2200 Harnish Drive, Algonquin, IL, 60102.
