Too much money is spent on campaigns
I am surprised that the average American does not pay more attention to the money wasted on political campaigns.
These millions of dollars could be used more effectively to help improve our schools, or insure young children, instead of wasted on negative political messages on TV and newspapers.
If the politicians were sincere about what they are promoting, they would use this money for worthy programs instead of flying around the country in private jets and spending millions on media coverage.
Part of the problem is our system that not only allows, but approves, this questionable use of so much money for getting elected.
How about putting a ceiling on the amount any one candidate can spend, and only allowing individuals to donate, instead of the unions and other special interest groups?
