Police beat

• A car was stolen while it was left running in a driveway on the 200 block of North Prairie Street between 4 and 4:40 p.m. Saturday. The car was found later by Aurora police crashed into a house on the 400 block of South Union Street, police said.

Geneva

• A black and silver herringbone sweater valued at $240 was stolen around 12:05 p.m. Thursday from Cashmere, 501 W. State St. A man wearing a beige trench coat is suspected, police said.

• Two drivers were charged with reckless driving and illegal screeching or squealing of tires at 8:50 p.m. Thursday. Travis J. Crumrine, 19, of 616 Arlington Parkway, Sleepy Hollow, and Kate A. Babcock, 18, of 41W48 Barlow Drive, St. Charles, were side-by-side in double left-turn lanes from northbound Randall Road onto westbound Williamsburg Avenue.

• A Delphi MyFix radio valued at $350 was stolen from an unlocked Honda Pilot between 5:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Friday in the parking garage at 597 S. Third St.

• A steel door and its frame were damaged by someone trying to pry it open between 5 p.m. Nov. 24 and 7 a.m. Nov. 26 at a building being remodeled in the 200 block of James Street. Damage is estimated $1,500.

Kane County

• Four cars parked on River Road and Wood Lane in St. Charles Township were broken into between 9 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday. Items stolen were valued at more than $1,500.

• A generator and a chain saw valued at $645 were stolen from a garage on the 1N100 block of Elm Road in Geneva Township between Nov. 24 and 30.

• An Aurora woman was taken to Provena Mercy Center after a two-car crash at Randall and Mooseheart roads in Batavia Township at 2:47 p.m. Saturday. Lisa M. Davila, 31, of 136 N. Ohio St., Aurora, was taken to the hospital after her car was hit by the car of Dorothy B. Bosh, 83, 202 Wildwood Drive, North Aurora, police said. No tickets were issued.

• Two metal reindeer at a residence on Brannon Lane in Blackberry Township were vandalized between 8:30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.

• David G. Schonback, 23, of 2021 Pepper Valley Drive, Geneva, was charged with speeding more than 40 mph over the speed limit after a traffic stop at Hughes and Bunker roads in Blackberry Township at 3:02 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Police said he was driving 107 mph in a 50 mph zone.

St. Charles

• Raymond L. Jackson, 18, of 1700 Walnut St. Apt. 5, Geneva, was arrested at 9:14 p.m. Friday at his residence on a warrant for failure to appear in court for an unlawful use of a weapon charge, police said. Jackson was released after posting $100 with a Jan. 10 court date.

• Anthony J. Mirenda, 18, of 2207 Vanderbilt Drive, Geneva, was arrested at 4:40 p.m. Nov. 25 on a warrant for failure to appear in court for a retail theft charge, police said. Mirenda was taken into custody on the 1400 block of South 14th Street. He was released after posting $500 with a Dec. 13 court date.

• Six 33-pound gas tanks valued at $1,200 were reported stolen Thursday from Foreman Tools, 3627 Stern Ave.

• A window valued at $300 was broken Nov. 24 at St. Charles North High School, 255 Red Gate Road.

• A motorist in a 2006 Chrysler car drove off without paying for $39.30 in fuel at 11:07 a.m. Sunday at 7-Eleven, 51 S. Randall Road.

• Two generators valued at $7,000 were stolen Thursday or Friday from a trailer at Creative Stairs, 3703 Swenson Ave.
