Hanover Park teens sentenced to probation for robbery
Two Hanover Park teens were sentenced to 30 months' probation Monday after pleading guilty to their role in a robbery scheme.
Jessica Adams, 18, and Bryant Blegen, 19, both of Hanover Park, told Cook County Judge Thomas Fecarotta they regretted the incident in which a man was robbed of $107, his car keys and a cell phone.
They could have faced three to seven years in prison on the robbery charges.
Prosecutors say Adams and co-defendant Jackie Yeazell, who will appear in court later this month, lured a man to a Hanover Park parking lot on Sept. 27 amid promises of sex advertised on the Craigslist Web site.
Adams and Yeazell met the man at an Internet cafe in Hanover Park shortly before 11 p.m. and got into his car, authorities say. They directed him to a parking lot on the 1000 block of Parkview Drive and told him to wait.
Moments later, Blegen and 20-year-old Stanley Lind showed up wielding baseball bats, authorities say.
They didn't hit the man, and no one was injured in the incident.
Lind is due back in court again Friday; Yeazell is to appear in court Dec. 27.
