When will assault on our rights stop?
I have seen a lot of changes in this country. Some have been good, but many more have been an infringement of my civil rights.
Why is it that when I have worked since I was 14, I will only be entitled to about $1,300 when I receive Social Security? And people that are illegal can draw from monies I have paid in and usually more than what I will receive?
Why is it that my grandchildren can not say the Pledge of Allegiance in school? When I was in school, we said it every day and I turned out just fine. Why is it we cannot have "in God we trust" on our money? Will it spend differently if its there?
Why do all the people who believe in God have to change for the few who do not? Why does a nation under God bother them so much?
Every day, I see more of our rights being taken away. When is it going to stop? Isn't it time the people of this country get a break? Isn't it time we respect the millions who fought and died to give us the rights we have? The freedoms that we have?
Why do we have to press 1 to listen to a message in English? When my ancestors came here from Germany and Hungry, they had to learn how to speak English. They had to learn how to write English. The schools weren't bilingual. If you didn't learn English, you stayed home, only communicating with other family members. This is not to say that you abandon your language, but in America, we speak English. What is so hard about that?
If I moved to Russia, I wouldn't expect to speak English; I would have to learn to speak Russian.
Come on America, let's start fighting back. My grandfather and father fought for our rights and my son is fighting for them now. Let their lives and their devotion to this country not be in vain. Don't let your loss of your "Moment of Silence" be the end of our rights as citizens of the United States of America.
