Express your view without invective

Some time ago I wrote a letter decrying the use of invective by those Republicans who have no tolerance for the ideas of others.

On Nov. 4, you printed two letters from Hoffman Estates readers with completely different viewpoints. The liberal writer made his point by expressing his views in what I presume he believed to be rational, Whether others also follow his logic is immaterial.

However, the other gentlemen made his points using invective: "Liberals must agree to keep their big stupid mouths shut."

I just have to say to Mr. Caldarola that I will not keep my mouth shut but at the same time I do not ask him to so as well. I hope that next time he wants to express his opinion, he can do so without being insulting.
