Advocate the best choice for area

Here in northwest Lake County we live in a growing, thriving community. As president of the Round Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, I have the privilege of witnessing firsthand the progress of our vibrant business community that brings development, employment, and prosperity to this region.

However, as our businesses and our neighborhoods grow, so also does our need for access to quality health care. As I expressed at a public hearing in June, it is my hope that the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board will allow Advocate Health Care to be the provider who meets this need in northwest Lake County .

I think I speak for many in the business community and elsewhere when I say that this need for access to health care has reached a critical level, especially when it comes to emergency care. Yet, as a growing community, we need more than just high quality clinical outcomes --that's something we ought to be able to take for granted. We also need a health care provider committed to investing in this community, and Advocate has proven this commitment by serving the health needs of Lake County for over 50 years.

Ultimately, the planning board will decide how to best address our region's health care needs. I am confident that the board will recognize the growing health needs of northwest Lake County and that Advocate Health Care is the provider best suited to meet those needs.
