Basketball

Hersey feeder tryouts: Hersey Feeder Basketball tryouts for boys in sixth, seventh and eighth grade will be at the following times Dec. 15 and 16 in the East Gym at Hersey High School, 1900 E. Thomas, Arlington Heights.

• Sixth grade -- noon to 1:45 p.m.

• Seventh grade -- 2 to 3:45 p.m.

• Eighth grade -- 4 to 5:45 p.m.

Park in the rear of the school and enter the door nearest the tennis courts. Anyone with questions should call Tom Garms at (847) 253-9758.

Wrestling

Annual meet: The Sharks Wrestling Club will host its annual meet Dec. 16 at Maine East High School, 2601 Dempster St., Park Ridge. Over 45 clubs participated last year fielding more than 500 young wrestlers in competition. The meet runs from early morning until late afternoon with 11 matches in progress at any given time.

Parents of children who are interested in the sport and range in age from 5 to 14 years old should call Mike Conrad at (847) 299-7531 for information on club membership or meet participation.
