Barrington to usher in holidays Sunday with tree lighting
With the turkey hangover wearing off, Barrington residents can kick off the winter holiday season on Saturday.
The annual tree-lighting ceremony is scheduled for 4:45 p.m. Saturday at the corner of South Cook and Main streets in the downtown area.
Following the ceremony, those who attend are encouraged to head to the train station downtown for some cookies, refreshments and holiday carolers.
The highlight, of course, will be a visit from St. Nick himself.
