Veterans package got the facts wrong
A Daily Herald headline reports there are 23.7 million military veterans in the US but only 78,000 living veterans of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.
I would highly question the validity of this second figure.
While I am painfully aware that we lost over 58,000 of my fellow soldiers in Vietnam, I would be amazed if there were only 78,000 living Vietnam veterans today unless there has been a grossly under-reported demise in our numbers.
This would also lead one to the conclusion that there have been over 23.6 million military veterans since Vietnam, which seems to be an overstatement.
I would think if you were putting something on your front page, you would take the time to ensure the information is correct.
