An apology, sort of, and a radio idea

As self-appointed spokesman for liberals and progressives in the Fox Valley I would like to extend the apology requested by John Skaritka in his Nov. 22 letter.

I am sorry we unfairly criticize President Bush for attacking Iraq because he was misled by Saddam's statement Iraq had WMDs.

I would also like to apologize to Skaritka that he has only two 24-hour AM radio stations (other than Fox TV), 5,000 watt AM 560 and 50,000 watt AM 890, for his news.

Perhaps if Skaritka wants a sample of other reasons so many of us scorn President Bush and his Republican team, he might listen to WCPT 820 AM. WCPT just grew to 5,000 watts, and ironically only broadcasts from sun up to sun down. Listening to AM 820 for only two weeks will enlighten, disturb and even at times entertain.

For example, you might hear about former Bush Press Secretary Scott McClellan recently writing both our president and vice president were involved in revealing the identity of an American spy, a spy whose specialty was nuclear proliferation in the Middle East. You might even hear those acts characterized as treason.

President Lincoln was so aptly quoted by Norbert Thornton, outgoing Dundee Township GOP committeeman, on the very same page Skaritka's letter was printed, "Stand with anybody that stands right. Stand with him while he is right and part with him when he goes wrong."
