Elk Grove gymnastics tournament

The Elk Grove Superstars Gymnastics team, home of 2007 Special Olympics World Games champion Marc Janovics, will host the Sixth Annual Katie MacDonald "Partner Showdown" Saturday at Elk Grove High School, Arlington Heights Road and Elk Grove Boulevard.

Warm-up and a silent auction start at 5 p.m.; the competition starts at 6 p.m.

The event is open to the public. The athletes take the gymnastics floor with the University of Illinois at Chicago Flames men's gymnastics team and female gymnasts from the University of Wisconsin, Western Illinois University, and Northern Illinois University, plus past national champions and various club and high school gymnasts from Illinois.

Partner Showdown is the annual showcase event of the internationally renowned Elite Superstar Special Gymnastics Association (a registered 501-C3 not-for-profit organization). Partner Showdown supports special needs athletics with a unique program that services gymnasts with special needs, mentors young volunteers, and provides special athletes with equal opportunities in athletics.
