U-46 requirements online
Elgin Area School District U-46 eighth-graders, freshmen, sophomores and juniors in the process of registering for classes for next school year now can get course descriptions and information about graduation requirements on-line. The district has posted a course selection guide at u-46.org.
Sign up for ECC classes
New and continuing Elgin Community College students can register online for spring classes at www.elgin.edu/accessecc. Students without an ID number and those who prefer to register in person can do so at the Registration Center at the Main Campus located on the first floor of the Student Resource Center, SRC 165, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. The Center is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays. The Center will also be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 5 and 12.
Campton joins Toys for Tots
Campton Hills police are teaming up with the U.S. Marines to collect new toys for children in need during the holidays. Toys for Tots donations can be dropped off at the police department, 40W115 Campton Crossings Drive, Unit B, during regular business hours. Specifically, toys for children ages 8 to 14 are needed. Help with the holidays
The Salvation Army of St. Charles is taking registration for people who need a food basket or toys for the Christmas holidays. Apply in person at 1710 S. Seventh Ave. For more information, to volunteer or to make a toy donation, call (630) 377-2769.
Holiday gala planned
The St. Charles Park District and Delnor Glen Senior Living Community will put on the 16th annual Christmas Gala Affair for adults from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 7 at St. Charles Country Club, 1250 Country Club Road. The gala will include a cash bar, dinner and music by Bob Hoge and the Olde Tyme Band. Admission is $25 for the district's adult activity center members, and $37.50 for visitors.
