Senior citizens face challenging times

I am a senior citizen receiving Social Security. I also own my own home.

As for Social Security -- we are getting a 2.3 percent increase while the cost of living is up at least 5. Our raise is supposed to be the cost of living increase. By the time Medicare takes their cut what is left of the 2.3 percent? Is this taking care of seniors?

Now for owning my home -- the value is going down every month. Does this mean the taxes on it are going down too? Nowhere does it tell us this. I'd like answers!
