Amber Alert called off after 2-year-old found safe

Authorities called off an Amber Alert on Saturday after a 2-year-old who had gone missing near the Great Lakes Naval Station was found.

"The little girl has been found, and she's safe," said Ken Kronk, a Navy spokesman.

The girl was had last been seen early Saturday in a black 2000 Ford Explorer with Alabama license plates, police said. Police alleged her stepfather took the girl about 6:45 a.m. Kronk had no further information about the case.
