Bush has run country into debt
When Bush vetoed the education bill because it had increased by $4 billion to $6 billion, he accused Congress of "runaway spending" and compared Congressmen to kids on the loose with a credit card.
Yet, he intends to sign defense bills for military construction and Veterans affairs that are increased to be $42 billion. These two bills do not even fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, which are funded separately and are estimated to cost around $200 billion alone in 2008, non-productive dollars most Americans don't want spent.
Since in office, Bush has run this country into debt from $5.7 trillion dollars to a staggering $9 trillion dollars - an increase of around $11,000 per citizen. His tax cuts in 2001 and 2003 to be funded by debt and are estimated to cost around $250 billion alone in 2008.
Between his war and his tax cuts, the dollar is being destroyed. If anyone doesn't believe the high cost of oil isn't related to the deteriorating dollar, they have no concept of economics.
We are living above our means, but Americans seem to love to live on credit. Who is holding our debt? Would you believe, it is not Americans buying war bonds like in WWII, but rather China and other third world countries.
Bush's arrogance is only exceeded by his ignorance in administering the office of the president. How has this country ever let a man like him completely destroy our stature in the world, ruin our economy, and put us so deeply into debt? The world no longer respects us nor trusts us, and we still haven't faced that reality.
