Clapton fest comes to life on DVD
In the past, guitarist Eric Clapton has struggled with alcohol and drug addiction. In 1998, he founded the Crossroads Centre on the island of Antigua to assist and educate addicts and their loved ones during the recovery process. The center offers financial assistance, and Clapton organizes concerts to raise awareness and funds. This year's concert was held at Toyota Park in Chicago's Bridgeview neighborhood, and featured some great blues artists.
"Eric Clapton: Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007" (Rhino, two discs, $29.99)
A wide variety of artists perform songs ranging from traditional blues to classics, and the concert ends with "Sweet Home Chicago." The artists include B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Jeff Beck, Johnny Winter, Jimmy Vaughn, Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Vince Gill, Robert Randolph, Robbie Robertson, Willie Nelson, Derek Trucks, Steve Winwood and many others.

"Leading Ladies Collection Vol. Two" (Warner, six discs, $49.98)
This terrific collection features some great actresses in a wide range of roles. The films are: "I'll Cry Tomorrow" with Susan Hayworth, "Big Hand for a Little Lady" with Joanne Woodward, "Up the Down Staircase" with Sandy Dennis, "Rich and Famous" with Jacqueline Bisset and Candice Bergen and "Shoot the Moon" with Diane Keaton.
"Film Noir Vol. Two" (Kino Video, five discs, $49.95)
Film noir is a genre that has a found a home with collectors. The latest tension-filled films are: Fritz Lang's "Scarlett Street" with Edward G. Robinson and Joan Bennett, "Contraband" with Conrad Veidt and Valerie Hobson, "Strange Impersonation" with Brenda Marshall and William Gargan, "They Made Me a Fugitive" with Trevor Howard and "The Hitchhiker" with Edmond O'Brien and Frank Lovejoy.
