Hastert, others leave us in lurch

How wonderful it is that Donald Rumsfeld, Karl Rove, eventually George W. Bush and now Dennis Hastert are all able to just walk away from what they have done to America, Americans and our military.

Who will hold them accountable? History?

In the case of Hastert, he will walk away at the time of his choosing for the benefit of Republicans who fear they might lose his seat in the general election.

And who will pay for the special election since he apparently can't wait? The same folks who are and will be paying for Iraq, the tax cuts for the wealthy and the historic deficit they leave behind -- you, me and who knows how many generations after us!
