Palatine bank robber at large

Palatine police and the FBI are looking for a man who held up a U.S. Bank in Wednesday evening.

Authorities say that around 5:15 p.m., a lone male entered the branch at 1586 N. Rand Road with a handgun. The man entered through the back door as employees were leaving, and forced them back into the bank to empty out the teller drawers.

The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries and no shots fired. The man is described as having medium height, a skinny build and wearing a white painter's mask with a floppy hat.
