School concert Dec. 6

Mundelein High School's choirs will perform a holiday concert for the public Dec. 6. The show will begin at 7 p.m. in the auditorium, 1350 W. Hawley St. Admission is free, but donations to the choral program will be accepted. Local senior citizens are invited to a free dinner at 6 p.m. prior to the show. Dinner reservations must be made by Nov. 29. Seniors should call (847) 949-2200, ext. 1399.

Camp at Bass Pro Shops

Holiday shoppers who want a different experience and want to secure a close spot several hours before Gurnee Mills opens with bargains just after the clock strikes midnight Friday should venture to the Bass Pro Shops World entrance. Bass Pro representatives say tents for shoppers to stay in, treats and hot cocoa will be available starting at 7 p.m. Thursday. There also will be prize drawings about 9 p.m.

Run before eating turkey

Runners can still participate in the 14th annual Jon Callaghan Memorial Turkey Trot at 8 a.m. Thursday. The run starts at Gurnee Fire Department headquarters on Old Grand Avenue near O'Plaine Road. Race-day registration costs $25 and starts at 7 a.m. Long-sleeved T-shirts will go to the first 350 paid participants to check in on race day. Refreshments will be in Gurnee Community Church's hall following the 5-kilometer fun run and walk. Run proceeds will help fund pediatric cancer research, Gurnee Elementary District 56, housing for the needy and other causes. More information is available at www.gurneeturkeytrot.org.
