Bartlett woman arrested for car burglaries

A 19-year-old Bartlett woman is facing felony charges after police say they caught her burglarizing vehicles.

Heather A. Sokolowski of the 300 block of Mulberry Court was arrested at 3:49 a.m. Monday on the 300 block of Wilmington Drive after Bartlett police responded to a report of a person pulling on car door handles, according to news release. Sokolowski was getting out of a car when police arrived and was caught after a short foot chase, police said.

She is charged with felony counts of burglary to motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools and one misdemeanor count of consumption of alcohol by a minor, police said.

She is currently out on bond and has court on Jan. 16. Police are reminding residents to lock their car doors at night.
