Elgin's Middleby acquires New Star Holdings

ELGIN -- Middleby Corp., a foodservice equipment maker based in Elgin, announced Monday it has entered into an agreement to acquire New Star Holdings International Inc. for $188 million in cash. The acquisition is expected to close in December, subject to regulatory approval. New Star Holdings is comprised of brands including Star, Holman and Lang.
