Sugar Grove's 'Cold Case'

It sounds like a plot from a TV crime drama: A key witness is targeted on the eve of a murder trial.
But he's not home and his mother is gunned down instead.
The boy and his family are taken into protective custody and he later testifies.
However, this isn't a murder case that's neatly wrapped up in an hour through seemingly instant DNA analysis or a suspect's tearful confession to detectives.
