Two men killed, one injured in Antioch rollover accident

Two men are dead and another injured after a car hit a ditch and rolled over several times after passing another vehicle Friday near Antioch, officials said.

Luis A. Magallanes-Robles, 22, and Rafel Soto, 23, were killed, police said.

The vehicle, driven by 27-year-old Eric Llanos, was traveling south on Route 45 north of Peterson Road when Llanos lost control after passing another vehicle at 3:17 p.m., Lake County sheriff's office officials said.

Magallanes-Robles -- who was sitting in the front seat -- was flown to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge after being ejected from the vehicle. He later died at the hospital.

Soto, a back-seat passenger, was also ejected from the vehicle, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Llanos was taken to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, where he is in good condition, police said.

A child's car seat was found on the scene, prompting police to use a helicopter with special heat-sensing equipment to search the area for a child.

Police later determined that the infant was with a relative and not involved in the crash.
