Crash kills one in Antioch

One person was killed and two critically injured in a car accident near Antioch this afternoon.
The one-vehicle crash occurred about 4:30 p.m. on Route 45, just north of Route 173.
At least two of the victims were thrown from the vehicle by the force of the crash, Lake County sheriff's police Sgt. Christopher Thompson said.
A child's car seat was found on the scene, too, but authorities were not sure if a child was in the car when it crashed, Thompson said. A police helicopter with special heat-sensing equipment searched the area for a child but did not find one, he said.
However, officers on the scene continued searching for a possible young victim.
No other details were immediately available.
