Department proud of new stations
With the Batavia Fire Department Open House fast approaching, all of us from the fire department would like to say thank you to the residents of Batavia. None of this would have happened without your support. You recognized that our city has grown and with that growth, we no longer fit into our "old homes."
Under the direction of the city council, the members of the Batavia Fire Department have had an active role in the planning, design, and construction of both stations. We have also spent our time moving between our temporary quarters and into our new facilities. Batavia's new stations were completed on time, on budget and couldn't look better.
When you come to visit, and we hope you will, you'll notice more offices for administrative staff; larger eating and sleeping areas for a growing department and most importantly, functional working areas. We are amazed at how the final product, our "new home," turned out.
Our dedication and service to you hasn't changed. We'll be here every day, 24 hours a day, to serve. It's nice to know that you took an active role in your fire department. Because of your involvement, you are helping us to reach our full potential.
Don't forget to stop by our open house at Station 1 and Station 2 from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday to take a look at the new stations.
