Hunt is on for candy canes at Lions Park

The Lake Zurich Lions Club will host their fourth annual Candy Cane Hunt at 1 p.m. Dec. 2 in Lions Park in Lake Zurich.

Prizes will be awarded to children that find "special" candy canes in three age groups: ages 3 and under, 4 to 6 years and 7 and up. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be in Lions Park.

The Lake Zurich Lions will serve refreshments to all that attend. The Candy Cane Hunt will be held even in the event of snow. Last year over 250 children participated in the Candy Cane Hunt.

Also from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 2 in Lions Park, the Lake Zurich Lions will sponsor their third annual Community Food Drive, asking for non-perishable food donations to benefit the St. Francis Food Pantry. Signs and specially marked boxes for canned good donations will be located in the Lions Club parking lot.
