'Check Please' crew returns to Paprikash
The television crew from "Check Please" swung by Paprikash International Cuisine & Steakhouse on Saturday, according to the restaurant's owner. The WTTW Channel 11 show "Check Please" first reviewed Paprikash, 602 W. Northwest Highway, a little over three years ago, but returned to shoot new footage for the television show's new Internet site, which is supposed to launch this month.
"We've added a lot of new cooks and the menu is all different with steaks, fish and other new dishes," said Mike Clements, owner of Paprikash.
Other Arlington Heights restaurants that "Check Please" has reviewed include Le Titi de Paris, 1015 W. Dundee Road; Mitsuwa Marketplace, 100 E. Algonquin Road; Chowpatti, 1035 S. Arlington Heights Road, and Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, at 798 W. Algonquin Road.

Wine and art:ŒThe popular "Art Talk, Wine Walk" returns to downtown Arlington Heights from 3 to 8 p.m. tonight.
Participating stores include Holiday Essentials, Flaherty Jewelers, Tribal Expressions and Urban Harvest.
During the event, Tribal Expressions will open its Annual Alaskan Trunk show. Urban Harvest will host wine tasting samples at each store.
The next Art Talk, Wine Walk is slated for Dec. 13 and will feature sparkling wines from around the world for the holidays.
Subway not a done deal: A Subway restaurant is planned for the Town & Country Mall at Palatine and Arlington Heights roads, but hasn't received final approval quite yet. The proposed sandwich shop will have 25 seats and open near the Jo-Ann Fabrics store. The new Subway would be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. Sorry for the confusion in last week's column.
Cars damaged: There was a bit of a crime spree between 4:30 and 6:30 a.m. Sunday near Hintz Road and Windsor Avenue in Arlington Heights. Five vehicles were vandalized: broken windshields, broken windshield wipers, graffiti and more. Saturday morning, another vehicle was damaged in a similar manner.
Anyone having information about the spree or any other serious crime should call Arlington Heights CrimeStoppers at (847) 590-7867.
