Twisting writer's words not right

There had been two letters printed in response to my letter regarding the outbursts against Planned Parenthood. One individual felt it was necessary to attack my character. Both letters had things in theirs twisting my words.

I never said my friend was "dragged" to obtain an abortion and I also never said she was happy she got one. I am not a liberal and my letter did not say to go out and get an abortion and I certainly never said it was the right thing to do.

I didn't attack anyone or any group for their feelings. I have quite a conscience and, thankfully, have never been in such a desperate situation. And the word "desperate" is the right word to use because anyone contemplating such a thing would have to be so.

Individuals in such a situation should be provided with all the options available to them and counseled. They must carefully take the time to make and deal with their decision, whatever it may be. And that was the point in my letter.

I don't feel it's right in the end to persecute someone, to presume to know their situation and attack them, to tell them they are a bad or a horrible person, to attack their character or that of anyone who felt differently.
