Fideliter Club's charity ball Nov. 17

The Fideliter Club of Elgin, a nonprofit organization, will hold its 119th annual Charity Ball Saturday at the Eagle Brook Country Club in Geneva. The theme of this year's Charity Ball is "The Little Black Dress." The black-tie event will begin with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7:30 p.m., followed by dancing to the music of the Park Avenue Orchestra.

The club provides donations to the milk fund at the Elgin Child and Family Resource Center and the developmental and bilingual preschool programs in Elgin Area School District U-46.

The profits of the annual charitable ball are also used to assist other local nonprofit agencies in the Elgin area, including Elgin Boys and Girls Club, Girl Scouts-Sybaquay Council, Larkin Center, Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice, Centro de Informacion, Elgin Day Care Center, Senior Services, Little Angels, PADs, Easter Seals DuPage and Fox Valley Region, Community Crisis Center, Literacy Connection, Well Child Center, YWCA, and Glenwood School for Boys.

The club today is composed of 34 women from the greater Elgin area, including Algonquin, Hampshire, Huntley, St. Charles and West Dundee. The 2007-08 officers are: Julie Lichtenberg, president; Mickey Brown, first vice president; Kacey Rupczynski, second vice president/recording secretary; Shari Darmon, corresponding secretary; Kathy Hannell, treasurer, Leslie Doyle, past president; and Coca Skok, historian.
