Annual one-day photo school features Photoshop expert

For over half a century, the Chicago Area Photographic School has been the largest one-day photographic school in the Chicago area.

The Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association is sponsoring the photo school, offering 17 courses featuring expert instructors.

The classes will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Elgin Community College Business Conference Center, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

Attendees can select either an all-day seminar with nationally known Photoshop expert Eddie Tapp who will present "Getting the Most Out of Our Images Using Photoshop"; or choose six different one-hour classes in "Expanding Your Photographic Skills and Artistry."

The classes include instruction for both traditional film and digital photographers.

Classes include: "Designing Your Photographs," "Light and the Landscape," "Close-up Photography," "Using Flash in the Field," "Portrait Photography," "Photoshop Elements 5.0," "Making Digital Slide Shows," "Infrared Photography," and other Photoshop and digital classes.

Representatives from major photographic companies will be present to assist photographers. Portrait-shooting with models will be available, so bring your camera.
