Book It: The "Book It" adult book discussion group will discuss Mary Higgins Clark's best seller "Two Little Girls in Blue" at 3 p.m. today. Books are available for check out at the Circulation Desk. Contact Deb Allen at (847) 546-7060, ext. 129.

Movie at the library: A newly recruited night security guard at the Museum of Natural History discovers that an ancient curse causes the animals and exhibits on display to come to life and wreak havoc, at 6 p.m. Thursday. Rated "PG."

Family Reading Night: Thursday is Family Reading Night. Sponsored by Secretary of State and State Librarian by Jesse White, Family Reading Night is when thousands of families set aside time to read together. Visit the Illinois State Library's Web site for suggestions on how to celebrate reading with your family.

Performing Arts Series: The Amazing Gary will dazzle people of all ages with his magic and entertain them with his comedy at 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

Thanksgiving closing: The library will be closed on Nov. 22.

Library board meeting: A library board meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 28. The public is welcome to attend.

Coloring Contest: In honor of Children's Book Week, the Youth Department is having a coloring contest for ages 2 to 14. Coloring sheets can be found at the Youth Services reference desk. Winners will be notified by Nov. 29.

Signup for 2008: Signup for library winter/spring programs begins Jan. 5. The Winter-Spring 2008 edition of "Paige-Turner," the library's newsletter is scheduled to deliver to residents around the second week in December. Copies of the newsletter will also be available at the library.

Blood drive: October's blood drive collected 24 units of blood. Each donated unit has the potential to save three or four people. The next blood drive will be Dec. 17. Libraries on the Air: Several Lake County libraries are participating in a radio program on Lake County's WRLR 98.3 FM. The program is scheduled to be broadcast weekly from 11 to 11:30 a.m. on Mondays. Anyone interested can also check out the program on live audio stream via Windows Media Player by visiting www.wrlr.fm and clicking on the On-Air Audio Stream link.

E-Newsletter: Get monthly e-mail updates about Round Lake Area Library news and events by signing up for the library e-newsletter. These one page e-mails are sent to patrons automatically around the middle of each month. To sign up for the RLAL e-News Updates, visit the Web site at www.rlalibrary.org.

Get e-mail alerts: Library patrons can arrange to be e-mailed when items they have requested are ready to be picked up. Go to the library's home page, www.rlalibrary.org, and click on the "Online catalog" tab, then on the "My Account" option, and fill out the "Register for E-mail Notification" information. Free Citizenship Classes: The library hosts weekly classes from 6 to 7:45 p.m. on Tuesdays in the meeting room. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. Participants must know basic English.
