Ever wonder about the house at Geneva, Highland?

There's a small brown house at the corner of Geneva Street and Highland Avenue that reads "Villageprofile.com." Ever wonder what that's all about?

Villageprofile.com is a company that publishes maps, membership directories, atlases, quality of life books and magazines for certain chambers of commerce and towns. Villageprofile.com works with more than 1,300 communities, said Joe Nugara, the company's executive vice president. He owns the business with his brother Dan.

For example, the 19-year-old firm publishes the "Elgin Lifestyle Magazine" for the Elgin Symphony Orchestra and the book for Elgin's 150th anniversary.

It also is working on projects for the South Elgin Chamber of Commerce, Joe Nugara said.

The projects also are available online, giving the companies exposure in cyberspace.

The location at Highland Avenue and Geneva Street is the company's corporate headquarters and employs 65 people, half of whom reside in Elgin, Joe Nugara said.
