Kirk leads in fight against terrorism

With presidential, senatorial and congressional elections all occurring in 2008, we must not forget our No. 1 national security issue: terrorism.

Congressman Mark Kirk is a leader in efforts to not only secure our borders, but to tighten security at all of our nation's airports. Most recently, a TSA report disclosed that O'Hare screeners may have missed as many as half of the bombs and explosive materials in some undercover testing. Congressman Kirk immediately called for stricter guidelines and more effective screening by the TSA agents.

He has also previously authored legislation that bolsters cash awards and other tactical methods to assist in the capture and prosecution of terrorists. This type of legislation is absolutely necessary in the fight against terrorism.

Congressman Kirk has made protecting our great nation from terrorists a top priority and he is best equipped to do this through his service in the Congress and the United States Naval Reserve.
