Taylor, Harper men roll to 90-73 win over ECC
Fred Taylor scored a game-high 32 points and Bobby Rhodes had 14 to help visiting Harper pick up a 90-73 men's basketball triumph over Elgin Community College on Friday night.
Although ECC led at the half 45-42, Harper outscored the Spartans 48-28 in the second half.
Ryan Harris led ECC with 28 points and Kevin Kasinger added 16.
ECC 75, Harper 33: Meaghan Staley-Gamble scored a game-high 18 points and Ariana Topps had 16 to help host Elgin Community College past the Harper women's basketball team 75-33 in nonconference play Friday.
Angelia Gafford had 12 points, and Aly Del Fava, De'Larissa Morris and Karin Herrera each had 8 for ECC (2-1), which held Harper to 18 first-half points.
The visiting Hawks (0-2) were led by Larissa Coldebella with 11 points and Jenny Murray with 8.
