Brochure outlines attorney's role

Buying a home is not only a huge investment for most people, but a very complex process. Legal representation is critical to avoid costly mistakes and ensure that everything goes smoothly from start to finish.

The wide range of services provided by a real estate attorney is outlined in a free brochure, "Buying Peace of Mind," which is available from the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association.

The brochure covers the attorney's role in negotiating the contract to purchase, disclosure issues, the title commitment and survey, contract contingencies, fees, tax and financing issues and, finally the closing, where all the paperwork is completed and the new owner takes possession of the home.

For a copy of the free brochure, write to the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association, Brochure Distribution Department, 2340 S. Arlington Heights Road, Suite 400, Arlington Heights, IL 60005, call (847) 593-5750, or send an e-mail to info@irela.org.
