Police investigating fatal Round Lake Park fire
Police are investigating a fire after a man died Tuesday night in Round Lake Park.
Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District firefighters were called to the 300 block of E. Elder Drive at 4:48 p.m. for a fire in a two-car garage, fire officials said.
A 78-year-old man who lives in the area was pronounced dead at the scene about 6 p.m., Lake County coroner Dr. Richard Keller said. Officials were attempting to notify the man's family members late Tuesday.
One other person was treated for injuries at the scene of the fire but was released, fire officials said.
The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation by the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force, the State Fire Marshal and Round Lake Park police.
