'Fred Claus' props for sale at local Habitat store Friday
After filming the Christmas comedy "Fred Claus" in Chicago, Warner Brothers Studios donated the Christmas props from the set to the Habitat for Humanity Lake County ReStore. The Habitat ReStore will begin selling the film props beginning Friday during their "Christmas with Fred Sale," coinciding with the release of the movie.
The PG-rated film stars Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti, Miranda Richardson, Rachel Weisz, Kathy Bates, Ludacris and Elizabeth Banks. It tells the story of Santa Claus' older brother, Fred, who can't live up to his brother's example, but must return to the North Pole to work in Santa's workshop.
The ReStore also features many other products to help with holiday needs, such as trees, wreaths, decorations, tape and wrapping paper. Christmas gifts are also available.
Items available daily at the ReStore include new and used windows, doors, vanities, hardware, lighting, flooring, tile, sinks, toilets, cabinetry, paint and cleaning supplies.
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is at 3545 Grand Ave. in Gurnee. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday 9 to 5. For details, call (847) 249-3160 or visit www.habitatlc.org.
