Kane County Cougars release 2008 schedule
Season tickets for the 18th season of Kane County Cougars baseball are now available.
The Cougars, the Class A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, released their 2008 season schedule Monday.
The Cougars will open the season April 3 on the road against the Beloit Snappers in a four-game series. Their home opener at Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva will take place at 3 p.m. April 7 against the Burlington Bees.
Among 70 regular-season home games, the Cougars will offer 33 post-game fireworks shows that will be choreographed to a musical theme, including rock n' roll, classical, movie soundtracks and the '80's.
The schedule features home games around several holidays, including Memorial Day weekend, Father's Day, Independence Day and Labor Day weekend.
Individual game tickets are priced at $8 for lawn, $10 for reserved and $12 for box seats, with a $4 processing fee per order. Parking is free. Season tickets for 70 games plus playoffs are $616 to $739. Group discounts are also available at kccougars.com.
Among the special theme nights this season at Elfstrom Stadium will be a family campout (May 25), all-you-can-eat picnics (Father's Day as well as on July 3), and Bark in the Park (August 18), which gives fans an opportunity to bring their dogs to a Cougars game.
Individual tickets for the 2008 season will go on sale to the general public at 9 a.m. Nov. 17 at Elfstrom Stadium. On that day, fans will have the opportunity to enjoy a breakfast buffet in the Cougars' clubhouse before purchasing tickets for the games of their choice.
Fans also can pre-order tickets on Nov. 12. Internet and phone orders made on or after that date will be processed beginning 9 a.m. on Nov. 19 in the order they were received.
That morning the Cougars will begin accepting phone (630-232-8811), mail (34W002 Cherry Lane, Geneva, 60134) and fax (630-232-8815) ticket orders for tickets.
