Valley Creek meeting today

The Valley Creek Homeowners Association will have a general open meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the auditorium at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, 77 N. Airlite St., Elgin. The guest speaker will be Carl Missele of the Elgin Community Network.

There also will be nomination and election of officers for the 2008 calendar year. There are currently two candidates for positions of president and vice president and openings for treasurer and secretary as well as several committee positions open.

Any interested Valley Creek resident is welcome to apply for any position on the board or committee. This includes current paid members and nonmembers. Any nonmembers wishing to join may sign up that night and pay the annual $20 membership, good until July 1, 2008.

Other items to be discussed will be updates on street paving, putting flower pots on Royal Boulevard near the creek, land use at the north end of Lyle and open discussion and questions from the audience.
