Understanding Your Digital Camera: Award-winning Daily Herald photojournalist George Le Claire will teach us how to operate all the functions on your digital camera including: white balance, shooting modes, programmable shooting modes, ISO, file format, quality control, and lighter/darker settings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Learn about media cards, card readers, and printing options and how to select the best digital camera for you. Please bring your digital camera and manual. Register.

Lyric Opera Lecture: Roy Fisher of the Lyric Opera Lecture Corps will discuss the symbolism of Richard Strauss' epic fairytale, "Die Frau Ohne Schatten," at 7 p.m. Thursday. Register.

Join Nancy McCully at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 as she brings us a colorful slide presentation of the communities that created little bits of heaven in the American wilderness. See how these pioneers lived their beliefs in this visit to the Amana Colonies in Iowa, Bishop Hill in Illinois, Oneida in New York, and the Zoar settlement in Ohio. Please register.
