Rick Shandling Trio: The Arts Alive Concert Series presents The Rick Shandling Trio from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The contemporary jazz group features drums, piano and bass. Coffee and sweet treats will be offered in Community Room. Free tickets are available at the library's Welcome Desk or by calling (847) 259-6050.
Fall Book Sale: The Friends of the Rolling Meadows Library invite everyone to stop by during their annual Fall Book Sale. A wide variety of books for children and adults including illustrated books, books on hobby topics, art, cooking, gardening and lots of novels are available for purchase at bargain prices: 50 cents for paperbacks and $1 for hardcovers.
Movies on VHS and DVD, music CDs and audio books also are available. Dates and times: $5 pre-sale is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 15. Regular sales: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 16; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 17; 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 18. The sale will be held in the library's Community Room.
Free Monthly Movie: A PG rated film will be shown at 2 and 6:30 p.m. Nov. 20. Shrek and Fiona reign over Far, Far Away, but dream about returning to the swamp where they spent happier days.
Wellness Lecture: "Pain Be Gone" is the topic of the wellness lecture at 7 p.m. Nov. 28. Dr. Luz Feldmann, M.D., of Rolling Meadows will review the new pain relief options available today.
Fall Folktales and Thankful Themes: Families and children of all ages are welcome to join the Youth Services Staff under the tree mural for storytelling in celebration of the harvest season from 7:15 to 7:45 p.m. through Nov. 26.
The Cradle Will Rock: Baby Storytime for ages 6 to 23 months, 10:30 to 11 a.m. Fridays through Nov. 30. Books, music, songs and finger plays for caregiver and baby.
Puppy Dog Tales: Toddler Storytime for ages 2 to 3 years. Thursdays, 10:30 to 11 a.m. through Nov. 29. This program is a time for caregiver and child to enjoy books, songs, games and a simple craft.
Storytime: Join us for stories and a simple craft. For children ages 3 to 5 years including those going into kindergarten, 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesdays through Nov. 27 or 1:15 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesdays through Nov. 28. Children should be able to attend without a parent.
Family Storytime: Join us for stories and a simple craft. Stories are geared toward ages 3 to 5 but siblings and caregivers are invited to participate from 7:15 to 7:45 p.m. Tuesdays through Nov. 27.
Hora Del Cuento en Español: Storytimes in Spanish will be from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 and 29. This program includes books, music, songs and more. It is geared toward children younger 5 years old with their parent or caregiver, but all ages are welcome.

Create a Book Display:Œ Create a display promoting your favorite Youth Services books. We'll supply everything you'll need. To schedule your display, visit the Ask Me Desk.
Drop in Crafts: Drop into the library every month and discover a fun craft at 9 a.m. the third Friday of the month, while supplies last.
Write It Now: This creative writing group meets every first and third Tuesday of the month from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Conference Room at Rolling Meadows Library. If you like to write poetry, essays, short stories or entire novels, come and let the group hear your work and give you positive support.
Parent-Child Internet Training: Designed for grades 3 and up with parent. Call Youth Services to schedule a time. Classes are in English and Spanish.
