Kidd powers Nets

Jason Kidd made it a nifty 50 with New Jersey.

Kidd posted his 50th triple-double with the Nets, his box score stuffed again with 16 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in New Jersey's 93-88 win over the host Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night.

The triple-doubles are almost routine for the veteran point guard. So are the clutch shots.

Kidd thwarted a late Sixers rally with a 3-pointer from the left side to give the Nets an 86-80 lead. Kidd was dependable as he's always been for New Jersey, posting his 88th career triple-double and helping the Nets rebound after they were pounded a night earlier in a 37-point loss to Toronto.

"He is a franchise; that's why he's a franchise player," said Richard Jefferson, Kidd's teammate.

Jefferson scored 22 points and Vince Carter added 18 points for the Nets.

Andre Iguodala led the Sixers with 16 points, and Kyle Korver had 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The Nets needed that kind of effort after they lost 106-69 Friday night at home.

"The best thing that could have happened to this team was to come out here tonight and, not prove yourself, but just redeem yourself more than anything," Jefferson said. "It was a tough game where we had to fight."

Jazz 133, Warriors 110: Deron Williams scored 16 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter and host Utah made a franchise-record 12 3-pointers to beat Golden State.

Williams hit 4 of the Jazz's 12 3-pointers.

Al Harrington led Golden State with 38 points on 15-for-20 shooting.

Magic 94, Wizards 82: Hedo Turkoglu scored 13 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter to help Orlando beat host Washington, sending the Wizards to their first 0-3 start since 1992.

Washington led 67-64 entering the fourth quarter but shot 5-for-25 the rest of the way.

Rashard Lewis scored all 18 of his points in the first half for Orlando, while Dwight Howard finished 17 points and 15 rebounds.

Gilbert Arenas made his first 3 shots, then went 2-for-12 the rest of the way to finish with 10 points.

Pacers 121, Grizzlies 111: Mike Dunleavy had 27 points and 8 rebounds to help Indiana remain unbeaten with a victory over host Memphis.

Dunleavy connected on 11-of-17 from the field as six Pacers finished in double figures. Danny Granger added 23, while Jamal Tinsley finished with 14 points and 7 assists. Jermaine O'Neal scored 13, and Kareem Rush and Ike Diogu chipped in 12 each.

Kyle Lowry led Memphis with a career-high 19 points and Pau Gasol finished with 18.

Mavericks 123, Kings 102: Point guard J.J. Barea made the most of his first NBA start, hitting 9 of 11 shots for a career-high 25 points, to help host Dallas past Sacramento.

Josh Howard, who missed the first two games because of a suspension, led Dallas with 27 points. Dirk Nowitzki matched Barea's 9-for-11 performance and had 24 points.

Rockets 89, Trail Blazers 80: Yao Ming had 21 points and 12 rebounds and Tracy McGrady added 20 points and 6 assists as host Houston edge Portland to improve to 3-0 for the first time since the 1996-97 season.

Yao scored only 8 points and McGrady only 5 the second half, but the Rockets stayed in control with their defense, forcing 18 turnovers and holding the Blazers to 41 percent shooting.
