MOLINE -- Right wing Jesse Schultz scored the Chicago Wolves' first hat trick of the season and left wing Jordan LaVallee added 2 goals, including the eventual game winner, as the Wolves defeated the Quad City Flames 7-1 on Friday night at I Wireless Center.

LaVallee added an assist to join Schultz (3 goals) and center Jason Krog (3 assists) with 3 points in the contest. The Wolves (7-0-1-0) are off to the best start in franchise history.

Wolves goalie Fred Braithwaite (5-1-0) stopped a season-high 37 of 38 shots in his third consecutive outing allowing only 1 goal.

The Wolves took a 1-0 lead 54 seconds into the game when Schultz netted his fourth goal of the year. LaVallee then scored off a Krog rebound on the power play at 3:55 of the first period, putting the puck into an open net.

The Wolves return to I Wireless Center at 7 p.m. Wednesday for a rematch with Quad City in the third game of a seasonlong seven-game road trip.
