Police search pond for clues in disappearance of officer's wife
Investigators looking into the disappearance of the wife of a suburban Chicago police sergeant are continuing to search a retention pond near the couple's home.
Illinois State Police Captain Ken Kaupas (KOH'-puhs) says investigators are also searching two vehicles taken from the Bolingbrook home of Drew and Stacy Peterson as well as other items removed during a search of the home. They've also used cadaver dogs in their search of the home and surrounding area.
Stacy Peterson disappeared Sunday. Her husband says she told him on the phone late Sunday that she left voluntarily and that he believes she left him for another man.
Authorities are also looking again into the death of Peterson's ex-wife, whose body was found in a bathtub in 2004.
