Veterans Memorial Tollway to open Nov. 12

The 12.5-mile southern extension of I-355, named the Veterans Memorial Tollway, will be open to morning commuters on Nov. 12, tollway officials announced today.

The new road links the tollway from I-55 to I-80, from Bolingbrook to New Lenox in Will County.

The new road will have six interchanges: at I-55, 127th Street, 143rd Street/Route 171 (Archer Avenue), 159th Street, U.S. Route 6 and I-80.

A day earlier, there will be a Veterans Day celebration of the extension of the road, Festivities include a 5K family walk/run and a 20-mile bike ride.
